In accordance with CGS Section 8-2, as amended, these Regulations are adopted to:
- Promote the orderly development of the City in accordance with the Plan of Conservation and Development;
- Lessen congestion in the streets;
- Secure safety from fire, panic, flood and other dangers;
- Promote health and the general welfare;
- Provide adequate light and air;
- Prevent the overcrowding of land;
- Avoid undue concentration of population; and
- Facilitate the adequate provision for transportation, water, sewerage, schools, parks and other public requirements.
