Groton City Brew Run

The Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce and Groton Utilities held the 5th Annual Groton City Brew Run at Eastern Point Beach in the City of Groton this past Saturday, September 6th. The event was a combination 5K race/local brewfest that has grown in popularity every year, with nearly 600 people participating in 2025. Final numbers for runners and walkers were 524, making it the first year that we cracked 500. Add to that the 36 kids registered for the Kids Run and it was easily the most people we’ve ever had out on the streets.

After some initial concerns the weather held up, with the sun eventually bursting through the clouds. In the end the attendees enjoyed a perfectly warm, breezy day at the beach. Live music was provided by Ernie and Dan from 2 Cat Zoo while beverages were provided by sixteen local breweries, spirits and seltzer producers.
