The City of Groton will receive proposals at the Finance Office, 295 Meridian Street, Groton, Connecticut 06340, until 11:00 A.M. on March 22, 2022, at which time they will be publicly opened and read aloud.

There will be an optional Pre-Bid meeting, March 8, 2022 at 9:00 A.M.

The project will involve the removal, replacement and disposal of existing shingles, necessary materials and debris associated with the City of Groton Highway Department Salt Shed roof.

Contractor to provide all necessary material, labor, and equipment necessary for the roof replacement of the approximate 5,400 sq. ft. salt shed.

Scope of Project

Scope of work:

Remove and dispose of existing shingle and debris;
Contractor will be responsible for a dumpster/debris removal.
Install ice/water shield on the rake edges and valleys and bottom eve;
Install aluminum drip edge on all outside edges;
Install starter course on all eves;
Install synthetic waterproof underlayment on all exposed roof deck;
Install, hurricane nailed, GAF H.D.Z lifetime (50 year) architectural shingles (or equivalent);
Install flashing on all necessary roof penetrations;
Adhere rubber membrane on both flat entry roofs;
Contractor will be responsible for filing any necessary permits (see permitting section)

Additional Alternate - Scope of work:

A roof deck inspection for any rot or damage will be required.
Replace damaged plywood as needed and agreed upon in writing with City officials;

Please provide the completed Required Bid Form and any additional information as you think is required for the City of Groton to adequately judge your proposal.

The City of Groton may choose the most advantageous roofing approach and negotiate changes to the proposal with the submitting group.
The City of Groton anticipates awarding the contract on April 5, 2022.

The proposals will be evaluated based upon among other factors:
Quality of materials
Initial cost
Expected longevity
Expected completion date
