    Install ice/water shield on the rake edges and valleys and bottom eve;
    Install aluminum drip edge on all outside edges;
    Install starter course on all eves;
    Install synthetic waterproof underlayment on all exposed roof deck;
    Install, hurricane nailed, GAF H.D.Z lifetime (50 year) architectural shingles (or equivalent);
    Install flashing on all necessary roof penetrations;
    Adhere rubber membrane on both flat entry roofs;
    Contractor will be responsible for filing any necessary permits (see permitting section)

    Additional Alternate - Scope of work:

    A roof deck inspection for any rot or damage will be required.
    Replace damaged plywood as needed and agreed upon in writing with City officials;

    DescriptionThe City of Groton, Groton Utilities (GU), acting through its Electric Division (GU), solicits bids for Tree Trimming and related work, in accordance with this document.

    GU specifically reserves to itself the right to reject or accept any and all bids, or to accept a portion of any bid, or to allow reasonable variations between the specifications set forth in the bid proposal, should, in its sole opinion, such action is deemed in the best interest of GU. Specifications are not intended to limit competition, but merely to indicate to the bidders the general type of material and/or service to be supplied. The bid may be awarded on any bid item or combination of bid items.

    To qualify for acceptance, each bid must be accompanied by the bidder's published list price for the full line of material or services offered in the bid. Bids must also be accompanied by detailed descriptive information sufficient to enable GU to comparatively evaluate the operating characteristics and efficiencies of the material or services offered. Any deviations from the specifications herein must be clearly indicated on the Bid Proposal Form. Unless sooner rejected, or accepted, all bids must remain valid for a period of at least eight (8) weeks from the date of bid opening.

    Performance bond is not required for this bid. The successful bidder must hold all prices firm for the contract period.

    This RFP is not a contract offer, and no contract exists until a written contract is signed by the CITY and
