The 2023 Concerts in the Park summer concert series has concluded for the year. We had numerous rain outs due to an annoying tendency for the weather to choose to focus its rainy wrath on Friday evenings. No worries, we still managed to have five bands play five exceptional shows for us, with the rescheduled shows pushing us out into September.
Thank you to Take it to the Bridge, The Heavy Hitters, F & Blues Band, Wild Nights and American Honey for entertaining us – you were all a joy to watch and listen to. And apologies for are inability to reschedule Red Light and Wicked Peach after their multiple rains outs – it just wasn’t meant to be. But we WILL have them on the schedule for the summer of 2024, so check back in early 2024 for the full schedule.
Thank you all for attending our shows. If you keep showing up we will keep bringing in bands. Promise.
The Friday Night summer concert series is held at Washington Park, Meridian Street in Groton. All concerts start at 6:30 p.m. and are co-sponsored and co-produced by Groton Utilities and the City of Groton Parks and Recreation Department.
The concerts are designed to be especially appealing to families for a fun, inexpensive night out. Spectators are encouraged to bring their families and enjoy the food trucks and concession stand. The concert site also has sufficient room on the basketball court for dancing.
