City Day 2021
We love the City of Groton and take pride in providing top-notch services for the residents. We also love showing and telling you all about what we do here at the City of Groton. City Day is a tremendous opportunity to showcase the various departments within the City of Groton and Groton Utilities.

City Day takes place on the first Friday of August every year – this year being August 6th – and runs from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Washington Park in the City of Groton.

Each department has displays, games and giveaways. There are numerous activities for children including Laser Tag, Mini Golf, Obstacle Course, Race Track, Photo Booth and an Axe Throwing Game (inflatable). New this year will be scheduled events such as a kickball game and a cornhole tournament. Other activities may be added as we get closer to City Day.

Ledge Light Heath District will also be providing Covid-19 vaccine shots that day on the Softball Field. Just walk up! No insurance card or ID required. Each recipient will get a gift card to be determined soon.

Elected officials, department heads and volunteers from the community cook and serve up very affordable hot dogs, burgers and cold beverages. The Water Departments gives away snow cones and the Police Department fits bike helmets for children – helmets provided by the Groton Lodge of Elks.
A DJ is there all evening to keep the celebration in high gear. The winner of the Jacqueline Nixon Community Service Award is announced. Community Organizations/Local Businesses will have tables with information and the Fitch Robotics Team, the Aluminum Falcons, will be having demonstrations all evening.
