Keith Hedrick Elected as new City Mayor

On May 1st City of Groton Deputy Mayor Keith Hedrick won the election to become the newest mayor of the City of Groton. Hedrick takes over for Marion Galbraith, who declined to run after serving as the mayor for the past six years. Hedrick will assume office next Monday evening, May 8th, in a ceremony that takes place at the city Municipal Building.

Winning election for the six city council seats: Lawrence Gerrish, Conrad F. Heede, Stephen Sheffield and Jill Rusk along with newcomers Rashaad Carter and Jamal Beckford. Also winning on Monday night was Deb Patrick, who will continue in her position as City Clerk.
